ARTIST STATEMENT
“Painting is my way of expressing the joy of seeing. By organizing the play of contrasts and vivid colors, I can capture the feeling of intense sunlight. This moment of illumination is what I hope to convey to my viewers.”
Eve Thompson first studied watercolor at the famous Rex Brandt School of Painting. It was here that she learned the master techniques of transparent watercolor. She also studied with other leading artists of Southern California including Robert E. Wood, Milford Zorns and Roger Armstrong.
Specializing in watercolor for the past thirty years, Eve has become a master of the medium and has won many top honors and cash awards in professional art competitions. Her fresh luminous watercolors capture the very warmth and presence of sunlight itself.
Thompson's artwork has been juried into the famed Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts, and has exhibited there for eight years. She was a watercolor instructor at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, and teaches private and group lessons at her studio.
